Warsaw Police Department Public Information Officer
A series of tips and undercover drug purchases led Warsaw Police Department narcotics officers to multiple locations Monday that resulted in drug and weapons violations.
Around 1:30 p.m. narcotics officers went to a residence on South Wood Street, in Warsaw, following a tip of illegal drug activity. There officers found several adults and juveniles with various drug related items including marijuana, juveniles in possession of alcohol and a sawed off shotgun.
Lashawn Adams, 19, Warsaw, was charged with felony dealing marijuana, felony dealing marijuana to a minor, felony possession of marijuana, felony maintaining a common nuisance and felony possession of a sawed off shotgun.
A 19-year-old adult from Fort Wayne and three juveniles were also charged with misdemeanor offenses. Adams is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail without bond.
Another tip led narcotics officers to the parking lot of Owen’s Supermarket East around 6:45 p.m., where a female was purportedly dealing drugs out of her car. Police located Kathy King, 56, Warsaw, in the lot and in possession of schedule II prescription drugs, without a prescription.
King did not cooperate in the investigation and resisted arrest. She was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for a blood draw for operating a vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance, and additionally charged with felony dealing narcotics, felony conspiracy to deal narcotics and resisting law enforcement. She is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail with no bond.
Finally, an undercover purchase around 11:30 p.m. led Warsaw narcotics officers and Kosciusko County Drug Task Force officers to a vehicle in the area of US 30 and CR 250E. Upon arrival officers located heroin and meth related items.
Officers took 34-year-old, Aaron Baumann, Syracuse, into custody and charged him with felony aiding in the dealing of a narcotic, felony possession of a narcotic, and felony maintaining a common nuisance.
Also charged was Zachary White, 23, Syracuse, for felony dealing methamphetamine, felony dealing in a look a like substance, and possession of paraphernalia. A 30-year-old Milford woman was also charged with misdemeanor drug offenses. Both Baumann and White are being held in the Kosciusko County Jail with no bond.
Warsaw Police narcotics officers and Kosciusko County drug task force officers were assisted by Warsaw Police patrol officers, Kosciusko County sheriff’s deputies, and the Kosciusko County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
